"Hope", mixed media (fabric and acrylic paint on glass 112cm x 87cm x 4cm).

"Hope" was submitted to the 2018 Mandorla Art Award, but was not shortlisted unfortunately.

I utterly enjoyed researching the theme - Revelation 21:1-2, and was very pleased with the result.

This is what i wrote about the piece:

"Hope

New Jerusalem is pure gold, clear, transparent glass. The lucid glass show the regeneration of heaven and earth just as St. John's vision of Isaiah, Ezekiel and st. Peter's prophecies.

New Jerusalem 12 letters demonstrated on glass, using bridal-fabrics fig-leaves as a bride adorned, Implying to the parable of the budding fig tree.

'12' motif: New Jerusalem will gather the 12 apostles and 12 tribes of Israel. 12 gates to the new temple (Ezekiel). As John writes, the New Jerusalem's surrounding wall is 144 cubits (12 it's square root).

The letters of Rev 21:1-2 articulate a Mandorla, which does not surround Jesus, as New Jerusalem is the consummation of the body of Christ.

The world remains yet in a glorious form".
